What is this site about?
I have been building and painting wargaming miniatures and model planes since the early 1990s. Over that time, I have gained a lot of experience with all sorts of pewter, resin, and plastic miniatures, as well as with how they are made.
There are blog posts and snippets scattered across the internet explaining how to make your own moulds and cast your own miniatures, but I wanted to bring everything I know and all my experience with mould making and casting together in one
place, and that place is here!
In addition to that, I own a vast collection of miniatures and have decades of experience as a collector, which comes in handy when spotting all sorts of recasts. Since there are often other collectors asking how to identify them,
I have put together a guide on how to spot recasts.
To get everyone up to the same level, I have included an encyclopedia covering the usual “slang” and terminology related to the materials and techniques used in casting wargaming miniatures.
I hope you enjoy the content!
